This 7-day Whisky Tour of Scotland includes
a trip to the island of Islay, Scotland's Whisky Island. You
will see the wild landscape of Scotland in its unsurpassable
beauty, visit the most interesting whisky distilleries, taste
the best malts, get to know the sights and sounds - including
the whisky museum - of Edinburgh, Scotland's historic capital.
This tour is suitable for groups between 4 and 12 persons
Day 1
Arrival in Edinburgh. Drive north to Inverness. En route -
possibility of demonstration of working sheepdogs

Day 2
Drive along the whisky trail to Dufftown to visit:

for lunch and a choice of more than 260 whiskies
After lunch drive back to Inverness via Elgin where you can
visit the Gordon and MacPhail (www.gordonandmacphail.com)
whisky shop with one of the largest selections of whisky in

Day 3
After breakfast you will drive along Loch Ness past the Loch
Ness monster Centre and the ruins of Urquhart castle and further
south past Fort William and over the pass of Glencoe on to
Oban on the west coast of Scotland. Oban is a delightful town
with a busy harbour as it is the main port for ferries going
to and from many of the Scottish islands. Accommodation in

Day 4
Today is the start of a 2 day visit to the island of Islay.
The whisky from this island is known throughout the world
and makes up one of the Malt whisky regions of Scotland -

thanks to the characteristic peaty flavour.
Early in the morning you leave Oban to drive to Kennacraig
for the ferry at 13.00 to Port Askaig. On the crossing you
can admire the unusual mountain outline on the neighbouring
island of Jura. Arrival in Port Askaig at 15.00
Accommodation in the Ballygrant Hotel where you can enjoy
the atmosphere of a small island hotel which is also the home
of the Islay Whisky Club. Here you can enjoy fresh Scottish
food and taste excellent old whiskies.
Day 5
Visit to world renowned distilleries such as Bowmore and Laphroaig.
There is then time for relaxation in the local wildlife reserve
or simply to walk along the shoreline and feel the power of
the Atlantic ocean breaking on the shore.

Day 6
Departure from Islay leaving Port Ellen at 9.45 arriving in
Kennacraig at 12.05. Drive along scenic route to Edinburgh,
arriving late afternoon.

Day 7
Morning excursion in Edinburgh to visit Old Town, Edinburgh
Castle and ,of course, the Whisky Heritage Centre (www.whisky-heritage.co.uk)
Afternoon is free for you to enjoy the atmosphere of Scotland's
ancient capital.
