5. St Andrews
A full day trip to this ancient University town, known world
wide as the Home of Golf. No one is ever disappointed who
takes the time to wander through the narrow streets to admire
the old university buildings, the ruins of the cathedral and
to enjoy the walks along the sea, where the Old Course comes
right into the heart of the town.
En route to St Andrews this trip can include a visit to Falkland
Palace. Built between 1501 and 1541, Falkland has
been a Royal palace since the days of the Stewarts. Mary Queen
of Scots was a frequent visitor.

7. Highlands
This full day tour takes you northwest through hills and
along beautiful lochs to the romantic wilds of Glencoe, notorious
in Scottish history for the massacre of the MacDonalds, then
on to the west coast near Fort William. The route then climbs
back up into the central mountains, where a visit can be made
to the Dalwhinnie whisky distillery - the highest in Scotland
- before proceeding back south via Perth to Edinburgh
