Castle of Park
Cornhill, Aberdeenshire, AB45 2AX
You can enjoy the secret delights of our warm and welcoming
16th Century Scottish Castle, hidden away in a tree-lined
park near the beautiful Moray coast. It is an hour's drive
from the thriving oil town of Aberdeen, an excellent communications
hub, but the setting of the Castle is peaceful and secluded.
The castle has been restored to reflect its ancient heritage
and to provide all the modern comforts expected by you, our
discerning guests, with full central heating and new en suite
bathrooms. And the food is superb -- prepared from the freshest
local ingredients, including venison, salmon and fine Scottish
beef.
You can visit whisky distilleries and a woollen mill specialising
in cashmere and fine tartans. You can walk along quiet coastal
clifftop paths dipping down to sandy beaches and to ancient
fishing villages and harbours. Therell be live music
from our piper, or Scots fiddler, or we may lay on a
Murder Mystery evening. Or you may simply want to relax at
the castle and perhaps enjoy a game of croquet, a stroll around
the naturally landscaped grounds or simply savour a dram and
convivial company in front of a roaring fire in our elegant
Georgian Drawing Room....
There are seven elegantly appointed double bedrooms at the
castle which can very comfortably accommodate groups up to
14. Every bedroom has it own private modern bathroom and six
of the seven are en suite.
The principal bedrooms are the enormous Royal Stewart and
the Black Watch suites, each with large Georgian bow windows,
a four-poster bed, elegant armchairs and sofas. The Royal
Stewart has a magnificent fireplace, which came from the Great
Exhibition of Paris in 1871.
The Castle is set in some 35 acres of park and woodland. There
is evidence of 18th and 19th Century formal plantings, with
many old specimen trees, including some fine beeches. The wild
wood is magical, a haven for wildlife, including shy roe deer.
More than 30 different species of birds have been spotted in
the grounds. |
